Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Quick Hits

* For those of you interested in the Sean Taylor tragedy, I reccommend you head over to Hogs Haven for the best coverage I've seen to date on any media outlet. It's not just one eulogy after another in case you were wondering, there's some very patient and thorough research being conducted about Taylor's supposed 'troubled' upbringing.

* Start at One For The Other Thumb for Bengals coverage. I'd like to write about the game today as well, but there's quite a bit of work piling up on my desk, so it may be this evening. OFTOT is a good place to start regardless.

* Former Steelers Kevin Greene and Dermontti Dawson are two of the 26 modern-era semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Any thoughts on whether either of these two will be elected?

* Cincy Jungle isn't ready to give up on playoff hopes just yet.

* Wondered what Bo Jackson is up to lately?

By the way who doesn't still love Bo Jackson? My favorite baseball card as a kid was Bo standing there in his shoulder pads and a bat over his shoulders.

Mine is close
I would include Art Monk and Paul Tagliabue, I think.

did you read that article?
I'm not done with it, but it's pretty damn entertaining.
Bo inherited his father's enormous frame and his greatest burden (his stutter), and he combatted his own insecurities by utilizing that musculature he'd been given, by lashing out at anyone who stood in his way. He was a bully of the purest sort, "the John Gotti of my neighborhood," he says, a character straight out of Mark Twain. He once clubbed one of his cousins -- a female cousin -- with a baseball bat. Although his mother, Florence Bond, who worked as a housekeeper at a local Ramada Inn, tried every trick she knew to tame him, whipping him with switches and extension cords, Bo would not be tamed.
Can you imagine how scary it would be to have to feel his rage when he was still learning to control it as a teenager?

that was really interesting
I was pretty young when Bo was playing and I had no idea he was so disinterested in football. I didn't know he was orginally drafted by the Bucs.

All that was good info though, at least we know now not to approach him on the street.

this made me laugh out loud
Given time, of course, even with the video evidence, it seems likely it will become increasingly difficult to separate fact from fiction, and those who remember a healthy Bo will remember the equivalent of his Nintendo Tecmo Super Bowl replicant, the most potent video-game running back in history, utterly unstoppable to the point of being ridiculous.

I vaguely remember watching Bo play but I definitely remember the Bo Knows commercial and I remember having the poster of him in the shoulder pads with the bat over his shoulder. And oh yeah Tecmo Super Bowl was and still is awesome.

That was a really interesting read.

Didn't we have Youtube clips of Bo on Tecmo Bowl posted up here once?
