I have been a rabid Steeler fan since about 1957 or 1958. I was 8 or 9 years old when I began listening to the Steelers on the radio with my dad. Of course, he and I watched them on TV together when that media began broadcasting more games. I remember Coach Buddy Parker, Buddy Dial, Tom "The Bomb" Tracey, John Henry Johnson, Ernie Stautner, Gene "Big Daddy" Lipsomb, John Baker, Roy Jefferson, Gary Ballman...I could go on, and on.
In 1970, I began work as a production assistant for a Pittsburgh TV station. After a short time I was promoted to wiriter/producer. It just so happened the station I worked for carried the Steeler and Pirate games. I worked the 1st Steeler game ever broadcast from 3 Rivers and the 1st Pirate games played there. I was fortunate to have met and talked with the likes of Art Rooney Sr,
and most of the members of the Steeler and Pirate teams up until 1973. Many of my heroes and other celebrities including Muhammed Ali and even Bing Crosby, who was part owner of the Pirates at that time I have had the pleasure of meeting with, speaking with and working with. I've been on the side line, locker room and in the Press Box. I have some good memories I hope to share with all of you. I'm a proud member of the Steeler Nation. I'm Fierce in support of the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team and just as fierce to defend it. I also believe in factual research.
I believe this site has alot to offer. I am happy to be here. Thumbs up BTSC!
