I've been out of town for the weekend, so please excuse my lack of commentary up till this point....
Today is a dark day for Steelers fans around the country. We just lost to the worst team in the National Football League. We were down by 2 TDs late in the 4th quarter to a team many thought would struggle to win a game this year. The defending Super Bowl Champs lost a game in which they allowed fewer than 100 yards. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a 2-5 football team.
The problem yesterday was of course Ben Roethlisberger and his 4 interceptions. Ben didn't play terribly all game, but he made mistake after mistake at critical junctures. 4 trips to the Red Zone--6 points. That's not going to get it done.
Can someone please explain to me why we ran the ball 28 times? That's one fewer rush than the Raiders had mind you. Big Ben should not be asked to throw the ball 37 times against an Oakland team that is clearly outclassed in the trenches. I'm beginning to think this year is one of the worst coaching jobs I've seen from Bill Cowher and his staff.
I still love and support Bill Cowher, and I still believe he's one of the best motivators and coaches in the league, but I feel he's not putting this football team in the best position to take advantage of their strengths.
Positional breakdowns from the game and commentary from around the league forthcoming.
