Fast Willie Parker, Troy Polamalu, Casey Hampton, and Alan Faneca are all headed to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. While Faneca, Hampton, and Polamalu are all repeat selections, the PB invite marks the first for the young tailback Parker. The undrafted free agent from North Carolina has continued the tradition of excellence for Steeler running backs, and is well-deserving of the nod.
For Faneca, man, what can you say? The guy's heading to his sixth Pro Bowl and has to be considered one of the Steeler all time greats at this point. Dermontti Dawson, a Steeler legend, went to seven Pro Bowls.
It's also good that Casey Hampton is being recognized once again. The middle of the defensive line of Pittsburgh's 3-4 doesn't get to make a ton of tackles, but his ability to eat up two blockers consistently is what allows the Steeler linebackers to make plays like they do. Congratulations to Hampton and Polamalu - making his second straight appearance - for their selections.
