*Coach Cowher has a tradition every year at training camp: going to the movies as a team one morning instead of practice. Unfortunately for LB Joey Porter, the timing wasn't quite perfect. It was supposed to be the Pro Bowlers' first day back in practice.
"He gave us the movie too early," Porter said. "Next week would've probably been better for me, but the guys have been working hard and it was the perfect time to give them the morning off."
Cowher took the team to go see Invincible, a true story about a bartender/teacher named Vince Papale who made the Philadelphia Eagles in the late 1970s.
"I think it was one of the better movies I have seen. I can relate to it a little bit," Cowher said. "He played three years and he and I got cut in the same cut in 1979."
*One more piece of news before calling at a day...Center Chukky Okobi underwent surgery this morning on his neck, and from all accounts, everything went well. The medical staff is cautiously optimistic that the backup center will be back in the next 4-8 weeks. Okobi was apparently not too pleased that he missed out on movie day! Less than three days 'till kickoff. Here we go Steelers, Here we go!One quick question. If you were coaching an NFL team, what movie would you show your players to motivate and inspire them?
