We'll continue our look at the offseason needs of the Steelers with a look at the wide receivers. Pittsburgh not only drafted a wide receiver in the first round last year when they selected Santonio Holmes - they traded up to do so. Holmes had a slow-ish start for the Steelers this season, but worked into a great rhythm with Big Ben by season's end. Throw in All Pro Hines Ward, the improving Nate Washington, solid Cedrick Wilson, and potential in rookie Willie Reid, and wide receiver can't be considered a "team need" in the 2007 draft.
Expect Pittsburgh to stand pat with what they've got at split end and flanker this year and focus on their pressing needs.
