Cincinnati game Injury Update

New, comments

According to Dale Lolley's excellent blog Aaron Smith and Ryan Clark will not play Sunday in Cincinnati. Bryant McFadden is also not expected to play. On the other side of the ball Rudi Johnson is not supposed to play and Kenny Watson will start instead (see below for more on Watson)

Smith will be a big loss both in the run defense and getting pressure on Palmer. Nick Eason will start at DE in Smith's absence.  Interestingly, LaMarr Woodley played DE in college so it will be worth watching if LeBeau gets him in there at some point. Ryan Clark is out with a mysterious spleen condition. According to Lolley, Clark could have died if the Steelers training staff hadn't been on top of things.  Anthony Smith will start in place of Clark. I do not expect a bit of drop off with Smith in there every down. In fact many of us here thought Smith should've been starting since the beginning of the season. With BMac likely out we'll get another look at impressive rookie William Gay. Although Gay has looked good he's certainly got a way to go before his jersey sales are going to take off.

What do you guys expect out of the replacements?
