A Quick Word on Big Ben's Non-Issue

Lost amidst the celebration on Monday night was the fact that Ben Roethlisberger gave us one hell of a scare in the third quarter. The questions were already flying about whether or not he should have been in the game in the first place; and the same questions only intensified when Roeth returned after just a series on the bench.

From Steelers reporter Dale Lolley's blog:

Roethlisberger is OK, by the way. He banged his hip and shoulder in the third quarter on a hit from Terrell Suggs, but is fine after the initial shock.

Roethlisberger, if you haven't figured it out yet, is a bit of a hypochondriac. You never really know if he's near death or ready to come back into the game.

Hypochondriac eh? Never thought of it that way - usually too panicked to think rationally when Ben's down -  but makes sense.

In other injury news, Ed Bouchette reports Aaron Smith is getting closer to playing this week against the Browns. Would be nice to have Smith back, but Kirschke filled in nicely as datruth suspected would be the case. No need to rush Smith back when we have healthy guys eagerly awaiting a chance to contribute. I suspect we'll see Smith in a limited role this Sunday.
