Charges Dropped Against Deshea

A judge dismissed assault chargers against Pittsburgh CB Deshea Townsend after witness confirmed his assertion that he had no part in a March 2nd fight outside Margarita Mama's on the city's south side.

Townsend, the crafty 31 year old cornerback from Alabama, was acquitted of all charges and is free to concentrate on football. He better be, because the secondary is the number one area we need to patch up this season. Townsend is in no danger of having his starting job taken away by 5th round draft choice William Gay, but he'd be wise to focus on having his best season yet as an NFL corner. He'll turn 32 during the season, and isn't getting any younger or faster.
