Injury Update

New, comments

Just a brief injury update. We'll see how today transipires and update it later this evening.

*One of Ben Roethlisberger's teamates stepped on his left foot during practice, leaving Big Ben with a noticeable limp towards the end of the session. Mike Tomlin didn't seem overly concerned.

"I'm sure he's fine," Tomlin said.

*Rookie Lawrence Timmons traveled to Philadelphia to see a groin specialist and may be on the practice field by week's end or next week. A groin specialist? Interesting career path.

*It's clear Tomlin won't be rushing Willie Parker back into action with his swollen knee.

"The more information I get about Willie's situation, he has inflammation of the knee. Usually that takes 10-14 days. We're about 11-12 days into it now," Tomlin said. "We'll continue to monitor that day-to-day."

*Center Chukky Okobi suffered a bizarre injury to his right side yesterday. The injury wasn't identified specifically, only that it put Okobi in a lot of pain but shouldn't be anything serious long term. Newly acquired OL Sean Mahan practiced with the first team in his place.
