Typically this post comes every other week, but with the Pittsburgh Steelers off in Week 6, we're doing it consecutive weeks for the lone time this season. Last week Ben Roethlisberger was our winner for his three touchdown performance in his 2010 season debut. Big Ben is certainly worthy of the nod against this week after throwing another three touchdowns and eclipsing the 300-yard plateau for the first time this year. Roethlisberger did turn the ball over once though, and was lucky that number was not higher, most notably on the fumble just inches shy of the goal line on the controversial play late in the fourth quarter.
So, despite being thrilled that Roethlisberger is off to a 2-0 start and is generally speaking looking very sharp, I'm going with one of the eight guys who caught a reception from Roethlsiberger on Sunday. That guy would be...
Hines Ward.
There may be no happier guy on offense that Roethlisberger is back in the fold. Ward had just 12 receptions for 163 yards and 1 TD in the Steelers' first four games. 108 of those yards came on his six receptions in Week 1 against the Falcons. In the two games since Ben's return, Ward has matched those 12 receptions and surpassed his receiving yards total by one yard (164) in just half as many games. Impressive.
So, for his 7 reception, 131 yard effort in victory, Ward gets our fictitious Week 7 Game Ball
