Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall to be Part of FedEx "Pack and Ship" Program, Grants BTSC an Interview

Recently, a FedEx representative contacted Behind the Steel Curtain to inform us of  Rashard Mendenhall's involvement with Fed Ex's "Pack and Ship" program.  Mendenhall is taking place in the second annual program that provides an "enhanced customer experience for football fans."

He will be joining the FedEx team at the FedEx Office on 4010 William Penn Highway in Monroeville, PA on December 7th (next Tuesday) from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.  I will provide a little bit more information on the event after the jump.  Anyway, you, and anyone for that matter, can journey to the event and meet Rashard.  It is not an autograph event, but the representative told me if you bring an item and ship it to yourself, he may be able to sign it.

I mention the event because FedEx and Mendenhall were generous enough to grant BTSC a 15 minute interview with the Steelers' star running back while he is at the office next Tuesday.  I will be conducting the interview via phone and will share our conversation soon there after.  Maybe if you post up an interesting enough question I might be able to include it in the interview.

Here is a little bit more on the "Pack and Ship" program:

Unsuspecting customers at FedEx Office centers may do a double-take in the coming months, as several of their favorite NFL players step off the field and behind the counter this holiday season.  FedEx Office, an operating company of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), announced today the kickoff of its second annual "Pack and Ship with the Pros" promotion, which gives football fans across the country a chance to win 2011 season tickets, autographed merchandise and other prizes by simply signing up and shipping items at more than 1,800 U.S. FedEx Office locations this season.

From now until Dec. 31, 2010, FedEx Office will be drafting some temporary team members – from several of the National Football League’s most talented players.  The company is calling in backups to staff FedEx Office centers in seven cities across the U.S., by recruiting NFL players to help customers pack and ship their holiday gifts.
