This week's Xfinity sponsored post is a play out of last year's book when we tracked the redzone effectiveness of the Pittsburgh Steelers each week.
Obviously the Steelers' offense has been very limited for the first two weeks of the 2010 NFL season. Not only have they been without the services of Ben Roethlisberger, they've also seen their two top backups sustain knee injuries. So, needless to say, the Steelers have yet to hit their stride converting redzone trips into touchdowns. Then again, they weren't all that great last season even when they had their full arsenal of playmakers on the field and setting franchise records offensively.
To the numbers.
RZ Trips: 4
Touchdowns: 0
TD Efficiency: 0 %
Field Goal Attempts/Makes: 4/4
FG Efficiency: 100%
It may not be this week, but the Steelers are going to have to capitalize on their redzone trips moving forward. The following Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens will be tightly contested and likely a close game, even with the Steelers' dire situation at quarterback. If they hope to somehow miraculously head into their Bye Week undefeated, putting up 6 points rather than 3 in key situations would sure help their cause.
