Everybody outside of Steeler Nation has been waiting on pins and needles to see which officials will be assigned to Super Bowl XLV between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday. You know, since everybody's convinced at least one of Pittsburgh's most recent SB wins was 'tainted' due to poor refereeing by a western Pennsylvania native.
Here are the designated officials:
Referee: Walt Anderson
Umpire: Chad Brown
Head linesman: Kent Payne
Line judge: John Hussey
Filed Judge: Doug Rosenbaum
Side judge: Mike Weatherford
Back judge: Scott Helverson
The crew has a combined 77 years of officiating experience, and have collectively refereed 53 postseason games. I'm about to go on the air in New Mexico, then am out the door, so I'll leave it to you all to find out where these guys grew up.
The replay booth will be manned by Tommy Moore (replay assistant), and Bud Alexander (video operator)
