Hurricane Sandy won't affect start time or location of Steelers at Giants game in Week 9

Even devastating weather struggles to slow down the offense of the New York Giants.

The Giants took on a schedule usually reserved for weeks leading into appearances on Monday Night Football, as coach Tom Coughlin sent players and coaches home Monday in wake of Tropical Storm Sandy hitting the eastern seaboard. Coughlin asked them not to be at their practice facility Monday, but the team returned Tuesday despite the damage caused to the metropolitan area.

MetLife Stadium was reported to be in good condition, and no scheduling issues with the game are expected.

The Giants lose a day of practice, but as Coughlin said, "We're pretty good at the midstream adjustment thing."

They must be. The Giants sit at the top of the NFC East at 6-2. Incidentally, their two losses come at the hands of two teams the Steelers have defeated this season, Philadelphia and Washington. The Steelers have defeated the Giants in their last two trips to New York (a 30-10 loss in 2000 and a 33-30 win in 2004), but lost in Pittsburgh in 2008, 21-14.

The Giants didn't have an injury report available due to the truncated schedule.
