It will be a wet, sloppy affair Monday night as the Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Both teams were likely to employ run-heavy offensive game plans anyway, and this will only further serve to meet that goal.
The Chiefs are losers of five straight, having one once this season (Week 3 against New Orleans) and only led after the final play of that game (an overtime field goal).
The Steelers have won three in a row, averaging more than twice the rushing yards in those three games (155) than they'd averaged over their first five games (75). Without wide receiver Antonio Brown (ankle), expect the Steelers to run both Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer frequently, and with Jerricho Cotchery filling Brown's position and probably Emmanuel Sanders taking over his team-high targets, the Steelers will pass as part of a conservative, ball-control approach.
Man-for-man, the Steelers are more talented than the Chiefs, but Kansas City is turning the ball over at a prolific rate (3.5 per game). If the Chiefs can protect the ball, and establish their own running game, this may be a competitive game.
