Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke with the media after his team's 13-10 loss to Baltimore. Through that quick presser, if he was aware of any sort of injury suffered by quarterback Byron Leftwich, he wasn't admitting it.
Leftwich appeared to be in some pain in his right side after scoring a touchdown on a 31-yard broken contain scamper down the left sideline.
"Obviously he sustained some hits but that's football. He did a n ice job communicating where he was. More than anything, we just wanted to do a nice job of communicating."
It could be a fairly large problem for the Steelers as they move into essentially do-or-die time for the rest of the season. If Leftwich was injured, they're going to need to find a way to play through it. If he wasn't, then they have a long week of work in the passing game if they wish to compete in the absence of Ben Roethlisberger.
Tomlin did confirm running back Isaac Redman suffered a concussion. He left the game after one carry, on which he gained five yards.
RB Baron Batch had a foot injury, although it wasn't disclosed when that happened. Batch had a nice run to convert a third down in the second half.
Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery suffered a rib injury during the loss. Full status on these injuries will likely come during Tomlin's press conference Tuesday.
