Another one bites the natural grass.
Jason La Canfora of CBS reports that the Steelers are worried quarterback Byron Leftwich suffered injuries that may keep him out of action when the Steelers travel to Cleveland for their Week 12 game against the Browns.
Leftwich was 18-for-39 with no touchdowns and an interception in the Steelers' 13-10 loss against Baltimore in Week 11.
If Leftwich is hurt, it would likely push Charlie Batch into the starting lineup, and would require a free agent signing to head into Week 12. The Steelers released Jerrod Johnson this preseason, and is currently a free agent.
Outside of Johnson, the former Pittsburgh Panthers QB and Steelers Kansas City Chiefs Tyler Palko could be an option. The Steelers are familiar with Palko through his time at Pitt as well as a one-week stint with the Steelers in 2009, and Haley kept Palko with the Chiefs for two seasons.
Given the extreme nature of the situation, the Steelers would have limited options. Palko would make as much sense as anyone else.
