2013 Pro Bowl: 2 Steelers selected

Despite not playing well enough collectively to obtain post-season accolades, several Steelers were named to the 2013 AFC Pro Bowl roster on their individual merits.

The Steelers may not have any postseason trophies to obtain, but two players were voted into the 2013 Pro Bowl -- Maurkice Pouncey and Heath Miller.

Maurkice Pouncey, center, was named to his third, second as a starter. Pouncey was definitely was major part of any offensive line success in 2012, starting games at center and left guard.

Heath Miller, tight end, receives his second invitation to Hawaii, although he will be unable to play after tearig multiple ligaments in his knee against the Bengals in week 16. Miller last went in 2009.

Not a single member of the Steelers top ranked defense was selected by the fans, coaches, or other players.

Considering many of the starters selected to start for the AFC currently play for playoff contenders. If players are unable to participate, alternates will be promoted. Steelers options include Ben Roethlisberger, Ryan Clark, and Keenan Lewis among others.

Shaun Suisham may also be a special teams alternate after having nearly a perfect season, outside of one poor snap and two gambles.

This will be the Steelers 12th straight season to send multiple players to Aloha Stadium. The Pro Bowl will be played on January 27, 2013.
