Former Ravens coach Brian Billick famously said former Steelers OLB Joey Porter would never play for him.
It seems as if that's partially true. Porter, who has a long and rocky relationship with Baltimore from his days with the Steelers, was traded Sunday to Billick's former team for a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2013 draft.
Porter has been on a steady decline since 2008, when he racked up 17.5 sacks for the Miami Dolphins - the highest total of his career. He's only had 15 sacks in 34 games since then, and his time appeared up in Arizona anyway.
With the loss of DE Jarrett Johnson, the Ravens could simply bringing in some competition for a pass-rushing specialist, and with little risk involved in acquiring the loquacious Porter, the question really becomes how Steelers fans will react to seeing a member of the team's All-Time roster playing in purple.
Porter will enter training camp at 35 years of age, and had recently appeared on NFL Network as an analyst. He was placed on the IR last season in Arizona after six games.
