The 2012 Draft has come and gone. However, there are still plenty of talented players that did not get drafted. The Steelers have had success with undrafted free agent's in the past with players such as Isaac Redman, Willie Parker, James Harrison, and Ryan Clark all being significant players on the Steelers who weren't drafted. This year, the Steelers will try and strike magic again with the following players:
Brandon Lindsey, OLB, Pittsburgh
Drew Butler, P, Georgia
Robert Golden, DB, Arizona
Marquis Maze, WR, Alabama
Desmond Stapleton, OG, Rutgers
Adrien Robinson, OLB, Temple
Alex Tanney, QB, Monmouth (as a camp invite - not on a contract)
Grant Ressel, K, Missouri
(according to nepatriotsdraft.com) Alfred McCullough, OL, Alabama
Ryan Lee, OG, Furman
Terry Carter, CB, Louisiana Tech
Connor Dixon, WR, Duquense
Ikponmwosa Igbinosun, DE, Southern Connecticut State
Jake Stoller, DE, Yale
Out of these signings there are four that seem to have the ability to make the roster. Those are Lindsey, Butler, Maze, and Robinson. Lindsey and Robinson are both pass rush specialists with great athleticism. However, they are both very raw and will need some coaching up. I would say Robinson has more of a chance of making the roster because of his ability to play special teams. Then there is Drew Butler, the punter with a huge leg from Georgia. He will get a fair shot to earn the punting job in training camp. Lastly, there is Marquis Maze, the shifty WR from Alabama. With only 5 wide receivers under contract (and the fact that the Steelers usually carry 6), you would think Maze would be given a shot to make the roster. It will help that he is also a great kick returner.
