I had a tradition each year since around 2008, where I predicted this time next year, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher would be the next head coach of the New York Giants.

It seemed so obvious, the franchises of the Steelers and Giants are linked together in so many ways, dating back to the merger and beyond. It's a family-run organization, which Cowher clearly gets having spent 14 years as the Steelers' face and chin.

But Tom Coughlin keeps winning Super Bowls, thus not relinquishing the job the media in New York could have sworn would have been available this off-season.

Cowher, though, is going to establish some roots in the area anyway.

Per the New York Observer, Cowher dropped $2.65 million on a condo in Manhattan's Upper East Side recently, a 1,500 square foot, two bedroom pad overlooking portions of Central Park.

Cowher does his CBS pre-game shows from the studios in New York, so certainly he has a current reason to shell out some serious bucks for his new domicile. He does still have his place outside Raleigh, N.C., where he's reportedly been living since his wife, Kaye, passed away in 2010.

None of this suggests a return to the sideline in any way, shape or form, but judging by the recent exploits of the New York Jets, who knows, maybe next year around this time...Wouldn't Tim Tebow make for a great white Kordell Stewart?
