The Turk apparently made his way around the South Side facility, and waves of reports of cuts are coming in.
As we mentioned earlier, OLB Adrian Robinson and S Robert Golden both were informed they made the team. QB Charlie Batch will join them, as it turns out the Steelers will keep three quarterbacks.
That means Jerrod Johnson was not so fortunate. Neither were OT Trai Essex and P Jeremy Kapinos, as both were cut Friday.
Surprisingly, rookie OL Kelvin Beachum did make the team, presumably over Essex, the veteran the Steelers signed this offseason. That's the head-scratcher so far.
Kapinos was hurt all of camp, and rookie Drew Butler punted at least as well as Kapinos in four preseason games, making his release not much of a surprise.
Tribune-Review reporter Mark Kaboly tweeted WR Derrick Williams and S Damon Cromartie-Smith were also cut. With Golden's inclusion, Cromartie-Smith's release was imminent.
Williams' release, though, could mean the Steelers are planning to go with four wide receivers, which seems likely for at least the first week, considering the lack of depth they have at linebacker.
More updates to follow.
