Steelers vs. Raiders first half open thread

The Steelers and Raiders kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET, join other Steelers fans discussing the game in real time.

The bad taste of last year's game is still in my mouth.

I can't imagine many were able to wash that down too quickly. The Steelers blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter to Oakland in a game quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdowns and didn't turn the ball over. He was 36-for-49 on the day with 384 yards.

And the Steelers lost.

That has to resonate at least a little bit this week, and should prepare them well for the re-match.

Because of that, this thread is being posted at 3:14 p.m. ET, because of the feeling of breakout performance for Steelers WR Derek Moye.

He wasn't around last game, so he has a clean slate against the Raiders. He also has a drop he needs to make up for this week.

With both teams sitting at 2-4, any flicker of a hope for the postseason is extinguished with a loss. The Steelers, winners of their last two games, have played considerably better the last two weeks, and look to carry that momentum forward to Oakland, a place at which they have lost three straight.

The second half thread will be up during halftime, as usual, so look for that, as well as the game story and all other postgame news and features.

Steelers inactives are posted here.
