Next center up.

The Steelers placed starting center Fernando Velasco on injured reserve after suffering a torn Achilles in the team's 22-20 loss to Baltimore. Velasco was injured late in the game, leaving Cody Wallace as the team's center.

Will he be the starter moving forward? They've already dealt with this issue this year. Velasco was signed after Maurkice Pouncey was placed on IR after a knee injury in Week 1. Velasco filled in well as soon as he got comfortable with the offense and personnel, and the Steelers maligned offensive line allowed zero sacks in its last two games and only one in its last three.

Along with that move, the Steelers released cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, and signed OT Rashad Butler and C Eric Olsen.

Perhaps Butler's signing could indicate a another issue. Both Kelvin Beachum and Mike Adams suffered injuries against the Ravens, along with Velasco.

The Steelers are 5-7, clinging to relevancy in a season that may have ostensibly ended with the loss of Velasco.
