Steelers injury report: DeCastro, Wheaton to practice fully, Gilbert limited to start week

The Steelers appear to be in store for some good news. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed positive outlooks for right guard David DeCastro and wide receiver Markus Wheaton during his Tuesday press conference.

Steelers right guard David DeCastro will practice fully to start the week, according to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. He made that statement at his Tuesday press conference, also confirming wide receiver Markus Wheaton will be available in a full capacity when the team begins practice Wednesday in preparation for their Week 10 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Both DeCastro and Wheaton missed the team's Week 9 loss at New England. DeCastro injured his ankle against Oakland in Week 8, and Wheaton hasn't played since breaking his finger against Minnesota in Week 4.

Right tackle Marcus Gilbert suffered an ankle injury in the loss to the Patriots, and Tomlin said he would be limited to start this week. The same comment was made last week about DeCastro, and he did not practice before being ruled out Friday before the game.

Left tackle Kelvin Beachum (hip flexor) and center Fernando Velasco (thigh) will also be limited early this week, making left guard Ramon Foster the only starting offensive linemen not likely to begin the week on the injury report. Foster suffered a concussion in Week 8, but was able to play against the Patriots.

Defensive end Cameron Heyward (knee) will also begin the week with limited reps in practice.

Tomlin also confirmed linebacker Vince Williams and Ike Taylor, both of whom suffered concussions in Sunday's loss, will begin the standard tests required of players to return to the field following concussions.
