The Steelers announced they came to terms with 7th round pick DE Nick Williams on Monday, the third signing of the day.

Williams is currently working out at defensive end for the Steelers in OTA and has reportedly shown impressive power in his brief Steeler career and will be expected to compete for a roster spot at a position severely lacking depth. If Al Woods stays as the primary backup at nose tackle, the Steelers don't have many qualified candidates behind Brett Keisel, Ziggy Hood, and Cam Heyward.
With both Hood and Keisel potentially playing their last season in Black and Gold, developing depth at defensive end is a priority for Pittsburgh. The Samford product is a project player, but if he can become more of a football player than just a measuring tape guy, he could be a great find at the end of the draft.
