Steelers vs Redskins: Le'Veon Bell joins Isaac Redman at top of RB depth chart

In not-so-breaking news, rookie Le'Veon Bell looks to be the starting running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they open the regular season.  Or, it could be Isaac Redman.

Bell has been projected to become the starter ever since the Steelers drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft.  After being listed next-to-last before sitting out the preseason opening loss to the New York Giants, Bell has leapfrogged LaRod Stephens-Howling, Jonathan Dwyer and Baron Batch.

Now, the depth chart lists Redman as the starter 'or' Bell.  The most recent co-starters on the Steelers offense were Emmanuel Sanders and Mike Wallace in 2012.  The next season (2013) Wallace is gone, and Sanders looks to be the top target for Ben Roethlisberger.  Bell's co-starter status could signal a similar transition with Redman, who is playing under a one-year RFA tender.

Bell was held out of the Giants loss as a precaution after a sore knee limited him in practice the week before.  If he suffers no setback, he could start Monday night when the Steelers take on the Washington Redskins in the second game of the preseason for both franchises.
