The Steelers released running back Curtis McNeal and defensive end Cordian Hagans while signing cornerback Devin Smith and running back Alvester Alexander, the Post-Gazette reported.
Smith was an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin, where he was second-team All-Big Ten his senior year, and was released by the Cowboys last week.
Alexander was an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming in 2012, and has spent time with the Bears, Colts, and most recently the Titans, prior to landing with the Steelers.
Pittsburgh is preparing to take on the New York Giants in its preseason debut Saturday at Heinz Field.
