2014 NFL Draft Order: Steelers selecting 15th in the first round

There are areas to address, and the Steelers will utilize the draft, as well as free agency and their own internal roster development to help fill those needs.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

By virtue of their 8-8 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Steelers selected 15th in 2007, and took linebacker Lawrence Timmons out of Florida State.

There are many needs to fill on this team for 2014 as well as subsequent years, but after a successful finish (despite a horrible start) to the 2013 season, the Steelers appear to have a few solid pieces beginning to take shape.

Last offseason was one of the more eventful in recent memory, but this one will be even more newsworthy. Decisions are expected to be made on several key players, and the draft looks to be the answer to many of the questions that will come out of the decisions made between now and May.

Here's a look at the top 20 picks.
