Steelers coach Mike Tomlin at Michigan State Pro Day

It's becoming a yearly tradition, but if Tomlin made the trip to see the Spartans' pro day for the second year in a row, let the "Dennard to Pittsburgh at 15" speculation hit full volume.

Not that any coach this time of year is going to pass on the chance to do as much scouting as possible, but it does seem awfully convenient Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is reportedly in East Lansing, Mich., checking out the pro day of Michigan State.

He all but asked running back Le'Veon Bell out on multiple dates last year, interviewing at the Combine, visiting at their pro day and going out to dinner. Perhaps cornerback Darqueze Dennard is next for the faux courtship of Tomlin and the Steelers' coaching staff.

Just connecting the dots, it won't be surprising to see the Steelers heavily interested in Dennard - one of the premier cornerbacks in this draft. He's a solid all-around player, and it's a position of need. Just going off the past, though, whether the Steelers are at a player pro day or not has not publicly known bearing on their decision to draft him.

If nothing else, it simply points to a few other players from Michigan State the Steelers may have on their respective radar.
