Bob Labriola from the offcial Steelers site is reporting on twitter today that the Steelers finally played host to a couple of prospect who had be rumored to be making a visit to Pittsburgh. Joining them was a surprise name in Jordan Zumwalt, a player the Steelers had previously been linked with after a meeting at the Combine in Indianapolis.

Jordan Zumwalt is an inside linebacker from UCLA with a reputation as a strong run stopper but unlike the more celebrated Ryan Shazier from Ohio State who joined Zumwalt at the Steelers facility today is expected to go in the mid rounds in part thanks to his limitations on passing downs.

By all account Zumwalt is a high character guy with a strong motor and an aggressive streak who's style could fit well in Pittsburgh but with such a crowded roster for two-down ILBs may only find his name called if he slips to the fourth or fifth rounds.

Ryan Shazier looks likely to go around the late first to early second rounds and would figure to be a candidate for the Steelers should they look to trade down in the first round.

As has been said by many the invitation extended to a safety in the form of Deone Bucannon is a puzzling one given the signing of Mike Mitchell and the extension to Troy Polamalu but Bucannon is a hard hitting safety with good size at 6-foot-1 that again would look good in the Black and Gold if still available on Day 2.
