According to Bob Labriola on Thursdays edition of Steelers Live, the Pittsburgh Steelers TV show broadcast via the official team website, defensive back Jemea Thomas from Georgia Tech has had a visit to Pittsburgh to meet the team recently.
Labriola has been a great source of information for draft prospect visits this year so it seems safe to accept him at his word on this one despite the lack of reporting elsewhere.
Thomas appears to offer a degree of versatility in the defensive backfield having lined up as both a slot corner and a safety for Georgia Tech in 2013 and also played extensively on special teams as the gunner and a return man.
His height will undoubtedly be the question mark against him as he could be considered rather short for the position these days at only 5-foot-9 and from a scheme perspective looks to be more adept in man coverage than zone.
Considered a solid tackler with good but not great speed he would look to be a mid to late round selection who may ultimately find his home on a squad as a special teams guy and a situational defensive back.
