Text from AFC North coach on Johnny Manziel: "He will fall into the same trap that Brady Quinn fell into... He's going to get exposed."
— Aditi Kinkhabwala (@AKinkhabwala) May 9, 2014
Tough to insult a man more than comparing him in any way to Brady Quinn.
In this case, though, it's extremely difficult to ignore it. Highly-touted QB who fell further than many expected and monopolized ESPN's live coverage of the draft, even if he wasn't the one drafted....and then on the working end of a Browns trade-up in the 20s.
If that's the trap the coach NFL Network reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala is mentioning in her tweet, it seems like we're way ahead of them. If they mean the trap of playing with the Browns, well, we're ahead of that too.
This is all full of easy jokes, and we're going to oblige.
Manziel won't start at the beginning of his career - or at the very least he's gonna have to show quite a bit to get out there right away (our bet is Brian Hoyer will start against the Steelers in Week 1). At least the word is there's a coach who thinks he's fated for failure.
