2014 SBN Bloggers Mock Draft: Steelers are on the clock

New, comments

The Steelers will announce their selection at 11 a.m. ET, and the BTSC Draft Committee is using every last minute to make the right selection. Find out who the Committee is considering and who's available.

Kevin C. Cox

Not gonna lie, the BTSC Draft Committee got excited when they saw Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix get nabbed by the Rams at No. 13. We know Chicago really wants to land a capable safety, and it forces them into a tough decision. Take the position they really need filled, or take one that closer resembles the best available.

The Committee was not considering Louisville's Calvin Pryor at No. 15. The Committee is now on the clock, assured of one thing; a player ranked very highly on its board is coming to Pittsburgh.

It just needs to figure out which one, and it has two hours (pick is announced at 11 a.m. ET) to make it.

Our short list took a little bit of a hit when Taylor Lewan went to the Giants and Anthony Barr went to Tennessee, but the Committee was more or less split on those players anyway. They're in consensus over CBs Justin Gilbert and Darqueze Dennard, defensive lineman Aaron Donald and linebacker C.J. Mosley.

Looks like this will be a defensive first round.

The deliberations are underway, and while we're doing that, leave us a comment. Our list isn't set in stone. Who should we take?
