Pittsburgh Steelers waive RB Jawan Jamison

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a roster move Monday by releasing running back Jawan Jamison from their current roster.

Jawan Jamison's brief NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers has come to a close.

The team announced Monday afternoon they have waived the running back from their roster. The release had no corresponding move after Jamison's release.

Jamison was drafted in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, was released by Washington and eventually added to the Steelers' roster in 2014 when the team waived Alvester Alexander earlier in training camp.

Jamison played college football at Rutgers University and was considered a long shot to make the Steelers' 53-man roster, and did not register a carry in the Steelers' 20-16 loss to the New York Giants on Saturday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Steelers have until August 26th to trim their roster down to 75 players. After the getting to 75, the team has to get it's roster to the standard 53 players on August 30th.
