Narrowing the Steelers mid-round targets at cornerback

New, comments

If several names are on the list when a Steelers pick arrives, which is the one they should choose? It's all about putting your Board together in advance.

Thearon W. Henderson

The Steelers are sure to pick at least one cornerback this year, and most of BTSC seems to expect a double-dip. The way the Board looks, the team may get one of those in the 1st round (probably Gilbert or Dennard) but will not find a worthy candidate in the 2nd round (Kyle Fuller, Jason Verrett, and Bradley Roby will be gone).

That leaves the Steelers' paired picks in the Round Four area (3:comp + 4:118) and in Round 5 (5:157 + 5:comp) as the "sweet spot" of this draft for picking at least one, and possibly both of the targeted Corners. Fortunately, there are about 10 prospects with grades that would make them excellent value in in each of those rounds. Here are two lists, one for players who would likely be targeted in the 4th and the other for players in the 5th. How would you organize them, and why? The brain trust will study the results and use them to revise the Steelers Big Board.

HINT: If you're at an actual keyboard the best approach is to block copy each list and then rearrange it.
