Report: Free agent safety Louis Delmas visiting Steelers Monday

The only question is what Louis Delmas feels about marijuana usage in the NFL.

The former Lions safety is reportedly visiting the Steelers today, eligible to sign as a free agent. The logical assumption would be Delmas would be brought in to replace pending free agent safety Ryan Clark. The controversial Clark appeared to be accepting his lack of contract in the league and began fully launching into his broadcast careers with controversial statements regarding the use of marijuana in the NFL.

The outspoken Clark bit his tongue as often as he shied from contact, but the years looked evident at times in 2013. Clark could still play in the NFL, given a chance, but Delmas, who was a cap casualty in Detroit, appears to have more speed in his legs and could be a valuable addition to a team that also is looking at the free agent loss of veteran Will Allen.

Pittsburgh is facing a contract decision on Troy Polamalu as well, although a new contract appears to be a viable option to reduce the future Hall of Famer's cap number from $10.88 million to something a bit more reasonable.
