Titans join growing list of teams interested in LaMarr Woodley

The Titans may be interested in acquiring the services of former Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

Shortly after news broke that Steelers Free Agent Al Woods would be visiting the Tennesse Titans today, Jim Wyatt has tweeted that the Titans also have an interest in recently released Outside Linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

Woodley is meeting with the Oakland Raiders organisation today, and if he makes it out of there without a contract it appears Tennessee is the next stop on his tour. This news makes sense, the Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt is a former Steelers coach, and has not been afraid to bring ex-Steelers to his teams.

The Ttians may also be transitioning to a 3-4 defensive scheme similar to that of the Steelers. One of the key positions they would need to fill is the pass rushing OLB, Woodley presents the perfect opportunity to do so.

Woodley was recently cut because of his inability to stay off the Injured Reserve list, but no one has ever doubted his ability when healthy. He is among the top 3-4 OLB in the league when at full force, and presents a fantastic opportunity for teams running a 3-4, since he will likely be available for a bargain one-year prove it deal.
