Inactives for @Steelers: QB Jones, WR JBrown, CB Taylor, SS Thomas, ILB Shazier, G Hubbard, NT McLendon
— Bob Labriola (@BobLabriola) October 20, 2014
The inactive list is missing a few mainstays as the Steelers prepare to face the Texans.
With nose tackle Steve McLendon out, rookie Daniel McCullers will take his place and make his NFL debut. Joining McCullers is receiver Martavis Bryant who has yet to see NFL action also.
Taking the place of Bryant on the inactive list is receiver Justin Brown. The fact Brown is a healthy scratch is not a good sign for his immediate future in Pittsburgh.
Inactive list regulars quarterback Landry Jones and guard Chris Hubbard won't be active anytime soon as both the offensive line and quarterback groups remain healthy.
Ryan Shazier came in as questionable and he will not play as he appears to not be quite 100 percent just yet. Expect to see him play next week along with Shamarko Thomas who also isn't quite 100 percent.
Ike Taylor remains out once again with a broken forearm that will keep him on the inactive list indefinitely.
