Steelers inactives for Week 17 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals

Safety Troy Polamalu won't make his return Week 17 vs. the Bengals.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their veteran strong safety Troy Polamalu in the AFC North championship vs. the Bengals at Heinz Field after he was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.

Safety Will Allen will once again start in place of the 2010 defensive player of the year as the Steelers secondary prepares to face A.J. Green and the Bengal passing attack who torched the Steelers for 224 yards by Green alone earlier this month.

Fellow veteran defensive back Ike Taylor won't be back on the field Sunday as he failed to practice this past week. But some might argue having Taylor on the sidelines is better for Pittsburgh as Taylor struggled against the Bengals in Week 14.

Tight end Michael Palmer won't suit up against Cincinnati after he suffered a groin injury this week in practice. But, tight end Matt Spaeth will take the spot of Palmer on the active roster as Spaeth returns from an elbow injury. Spaeth played a key role in the dominant fourth quarter display of running the football in the previous game against the Bengals.

The combination of quarterback Landry Jones, defensive lineman Clifton Geathers, wide receiver Justin Brown, and guard Chris Hubbard will all be inactive once again this week as their respective position groups remain healthy.
