Just minutes after winning the NFC Championship, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson's mind was already on Super Bowl XLVIII.
On the podium two weeks ago accepting the George Halas Trophy, NFL Films' camera picked up audio of Wilson asking Fox's and the Steelers four-time winning Super Bowl quarterback Terry Bradshaw for advice on how to handle the moment.
"Be cool," Bradshaw told Wilson on how to mentally prepare for the game's biggest stage. "Don't make the game bigger than it is. It is a big game, but if you think that way, you'll mess up, so just be cool."
Bradshaw certainly was cool during his run of Super Bowl victories. He threw the game deciding touchdown in all four of the team's Super Bowl wins in the 1970s. Wilson has shown a cool confidence as well in his short NFL career. He's 3-1 in playoff games so far and is trying to join Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger as second year quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl.
Wilson's counterpart in Super Bowl XLVIII is Peyton Manning, who last night received his fifth NFL MVP award. Manning is 1-1 in the Big Game, leading the Colts to a win in Super Bowl XLI before losing to the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.
