It's rare when Steelers free agents are signed within the division.
Maybe Emmanuel Sanders will break that streak.
CBS Sports reporter Jason La Canfora tweeted Tuesday the Cleveland Browns are expected to be in the running for the pending Steelers free agent. Sanders has also been mentioned alongside the Jets and Lions.
The Steelers are not expected to make Sanders an offer, making him the second wide receiver in the last two seasons to leave Pittsburgh for greener fiancial pastures. Miami signed Mike Wallace to a 4-year, $60 million deal last March.
The Browns could get good use out of a solid second receiving option in Sanders. Josh Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards last season, and Sanders is used to being the No. 2 option in an offense. Steelers WR Antonio Brown caught 110 passes for 1,499 yards in 2013.
Cleveland also holds the No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and there are lots of receiver options available for far less than whatever Sanders is looking to make this season.
