Jerricho Cotchery in Charlotte Monday evening, expected to stay into Tuesday

Provided the Carolina Panthers aren't planning to run the single-T offense this season, it's a safe bet they're going to find some receivers in the draft.

The prime target right now is Steleers WR Jerricho Cotchery, who is in Charlotte for a visit this evening. He's expected to stay overnight, and, according to ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton, isn't expected to leave town without a contract.

Carolina lost Steve Smith to Baltimore, Ted Ginn to Arizona, Domenik Hixon to Chicago and Brandon LaFell to New England. Signing and drafting receivers will have to be a priority, and Cotchery is a logical first step.

With the Raiders taking James Jones off the market earlier Monday, there really just aren't very many options left. The same issue will exist for the Steelers, who, without Cotchery, have eight NFL catches at their wide receiver positions behind Antonio Brown.

The fully healthy return of Heath Miller and the emergence of Le'Veon Bell will help mitigate some of that loss (the combined absence of Cotchery and Emmanuel Sanders, who signed with the Broncos Sunday), but the Steelers may want to look at a deep receiver draft class to help bolster their future as well, should Cotchery sign elsewhere.
