UPDATE: The Raiders and Maurice Jones-Drew have agreed on a three-year contract.
#Raiders, Maurice Jones Drew are very close to a deal. All signs point to this thing getting done very soon.

Updating an earlier item regarding the free agency visit Maurice Jones-Drew is paying to the Oakland Raiders...it appears as if that interview will upgrade itself to a contract shortly, according to Scott Blair of CSN California.
Must Reads
It's likely Oakland was one of the teams targeting MJD from the start - with the cap space they have available and the likely opportunity he would have considering the injury history of Darren McFadden and the lack of strength of a passing game, it seems like an outstanding fit.
Jones-Drew met with the Steelers earlier in free agency, but no deal ever materialized. Standing in contrast to Oakland, the Steelers never appeared to be a great fit for Jones-Drew anyway, financially or strategically.
Pittsburgh is hosting a free agent trip for RB LeGarrette Blount that began Thursday and has extended into Friday. With very little cap money available, if the Steelers are going to make an offer now, it will likely come in conjunction with another roster move - likely a contract restructuring for Lawrence Timmons or an extension for Jason Worilds.
