Steelers cut Kaycee Ike
— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) May 28, 2014
It didn't last long for undrafted free agent offensive tackle Kaycee Ike. The Alabama-Birmingham product was waived by the Steelers Wednesday, just two days into its OTAs practice session.
The move was likely predicated more on opportunity, as they claimed UDFA cornerback Deion Belue off waivers from Miami.
Belue, a field corner at Alabama, is a thin but competitive 5-foot-11, 183-pound player who played two years at the Juco level before transferring to Alabama.
He played the bulk of the 2013 season with Turf Toe, a painful injury for any athlete trying to stop or cut sharply. He isn't the biggest player on the field, but he competes hard, and scouting reports noted high football and personal character for the Alabama product.
The Steelers will conclude the third and final practice of the week Thursday. They have another three practices scheduled next week.
