The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their 5th of 9 draft picks today as they signed cornerback Shaquille Richardson. Richardson was the first of two 5th round draft picks in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Richardson played his college football at the University of Arizona and was highly touted by defensive backs coach Carnell Lake who worked with Richardson in his short stint with the UCLA football program.
Richardson's big frame (6'0" 194lbs) will be used most likely as quality depth for the secondary and special teams play for the Steelers in 2014; however, the Steelers will need Richardson to become a quick study as Ike Taylor is likely in his final year with the Steelers and Cortez Allen is the final year of his current contract.
The Steelers are continuing their rookie signings in a back to front fashion which would make former Clemson wide receiver and 4th round draft choice, Martavis Bryant, next to sign his rookie deal.
