Heinz Field is now a fully functional man cave

In the many improvements being made to Heinz Field, the new jumbotron in the closed end of the field looks to add to the game day experience for fans.

Heinz Field just upgraded their "man cave" with a brand spankin' new jumbo tron. This is one of the many improvements being added to the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers to enhance the viewing experience. Also, when the addition of 3,000 seats are added to the "big ketchup bottle", they will have a big screen to watch instead of having to turn around at the open end zone screen.

The NFL has long been trying to compete with cable packages like DirecTV's 'NFL Sunday Ticket' and the RedZone channel in lieu of fans forking over the ticket price and going to see a game in person. The number of blackouts in local markets is increasing, and even in city's that sport playoff teams, like the Cincinnati Bengals.

There is no way around the live, game day experience at Heinz Field, but for those teams without such a loyal following, some are choosing to stay in the comfort of their own home rather than pay a ridiculous amount of money on the tickets, parking, beverages and food that would be purchased by going to the game.

Whichever side of the fence you fall on, the game day side or the stay at home side, the new jumbo tron sure is sweet. Thanks to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for the picture.
