Calling volunteers for a readers advisory panel on BTSC

Email managing editor Neal Coolong if you'd like to participate with other readers in giving feedback to ideas for content and design, or have a few suggestions you'd like to make. Please read below for more details.

The staff of Behind The Steel Curtain has been calling this "the dog days" before training camp.

There are 35 of them, total, days before the Steelers strap on the pads to prepare for the 2014 season.

That's a lot of days. Each one is one less until actual football takes place, and in the meantime, we're gonna get out of the box a bit on the site in terms of what we're writing about and how we're presenting it.

In that, we're calling for your help.

I'd like to put together something of an advisory panel for discussion in regards to certain site features and ideas. As most of my writers can tell you, I ramble about ideas even more than I ramble about whatever recent news was just posted. I'd like some readers willing to provide feedback and criticism on some of those ideas.

I know going in most of the ideas are pretty ridiculous, so you can feel free to tell me how dumb of an idea it is. I'd also like this group to serve as a think-tank of sorts, helping to generate ideas and topics that would be of interest to you.

So...if you're interested, you MUST meet these requirements:

- Willing to actively participate - meaning you must respond to emails (maybe a few a week tops).
- Not already a frequent writer
- Willing to contribute to the general vision of the site - meaning criticism is reflexive. Shoot down ideas as often as you suggest others
- Visit the site frequently - participation in the comments section isn't a requirement but I'd like to work with people who understand the features of the site and are used to how we do things.

If that's you, shoot me an email (I won't acknowledge comments left here as formal requests of participation), and write to me around 200 words of one aspect of the site you enjoy and why, typing "BTSC" in the subject line. My email address can be found in my profile.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.
