Mike Tomlin addressed the media on Monday compared to his usual Tuesday press conference with the Pittsburgh Steelers working on a short week as they prepare for the Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Tomlin updated the injuries for the team during his press conference, and the news wasn't as dire as once expected.
Safety Shamarko Thomas suffered a sprained Achilles tendon that has him listed as questionable in this short week. Also added to the injury report was rookie running back/wide receiver Dri Archer who is also questionable with an ankle injury.
Other players of note on the injury report: wide receiver Lance Moore (groin), corner back Brice McCain (groin) and rookie wide receiver Martavis Bryant (shoulder) are all questionable for the game Thursday night.
With a short week, Thomas and Archer's injuries could force them out of the lineup, in which case Will Allen would replace Thomas, but Archer's injury would leave a gaping hole in the running back depth chart. When the team only has two days of practice before a game, the decision on whether they play or not will have to be made sooner rather than later.
